Artist and art educator, Senghor Reid, was celebrated at M Contemporary Gallery on the evening of February 15, 2019 with the opening of his solo exhibition, Distilled. In this series, Reid, explores the many forms and hues of water, from turbulent to calm and reflective. Color, texture and movement are thematic throughout this series. Raids largest work in the show, entitled Breathless is a mixed media collage of the city of Detroit as the centerpiece. The Detroit River surrounds maps of municipalities both contiguous and distant. “My goal is to always inspire people to be their best selves. I always make art with bright colors, lots of movement; I want people to feel invigorated. I want people to feel happy and excited when they see my work.” See Distilled though March 16, 2019.
