Grat-i-tude/noun: the state of being grateful: thankfulness
Graves + Mallett Art Solutions was formed in late 2018. The year 2019 was a heady whirlwind of a ride as we flexed our art muscle and turned our passion and excitement for the visual arts into a business venture. This past year, GMAS amassed many new friends and followers on Facebook and Instagram; provided consulting services to a major transportation hub (based in southeastern Michigan); attended an international arts conference; assisted several new and established collectors with additions to their collections; provided cataloging services to collectors; attended numerous gallery openings and artists talks; posted over 20 blog posts and introduced the listening public to our podcast, Open Studio: Conversations on Art. Our podcast guests included art collectors, emerging artists, curators, museum staff, an art business owner, and a gallery owner. Each guest shared a wide range of viewpoints on the art world today, why collecting African American Art is important as well as humorous personal stories of growth and determination. Special thanks to Stuart Scaggs and Kevin Crosby for the original music score they so generously provided for our podcast.
It is with gratitude that GMAS closes out a successful year and begins year two with even more enthusiasm and focus. Stay tuned for more on local, national and international art updates, collaborations and programing in 2020!
